Mermaid Dreams

'Mist rose from the ocean,
it's waves keeping rhythm, keeping time,
it's body blue and darkening.
I was alone in my reverie,
just me and the sea'
This is my proudest work from 2012 - a Mermaid painted in acrylic on canvas in a free style that was liberating and expressive. She is a maiden of the sea, seen and shying away. 

She's one of my larger works standing at W90cm x H95.5cm and I'm excited to share her with you as summer comes and many of us will spend time in the water to cool down on hot days.
I don't know about you, but I'm excited about Christmas this year, and especially about decorating. Now its December, its time to put up the tree and cover the roof in tinsel while listening to Il Divo's Christmas album. The next post I make will be of Christmas Lights at the Hunter Valley Gardens so check back soon to see some Disney inspired magic!
